itunes vs enhanced cd
iknow on November 18, 2010
I like the enhanced cd because you get music videos, music, concerts ...everything..you can take it with you anywhere...how about you all..i kind of favor kelly clarkson's enhanced cd off of her very first album because you could download her video straight from the cd..i wander if Cannibal will have any of these features.......hea, would you all prefer itunes or an enhanced cd??? or both..??

yea, I don't know if there's anything that could replace the physical copy...and I know the import version of "Animal" could not be anything but the physical copy..you have to have it in your hands..it could not be any other way! hea, thanks..
I like to have a physical copy. If its not an artist I really like i will probably not get the actual cd, but definately had to get it for Ke$ha!
yea, I love the physical copy too! you can look at all the pictures..read the notes..the lyrics..the album credits..everything....it's like tv, a book, a magazine..a music video..all in one..itunes is okay if you have a computer and everything but if you computer is real slow and it doesn't run fast it can take a long time to download the music videos and they take up a lot of hard drive space..I also get frustrated too when you they have bonus tracks that you have to download seperately..and then everytime you go to use another computer you have to download itunes all over again...so, yes, I have to say my first love is for music cds..
yea, I love enhanced cds..they are so much fun..something you wouldn't ordinarily exspect on a cd..it's funny..i ididn't know anything about enhanced cds until I checked out a Faith Hill album from a library and then all of a sudden this whole video collection and "special" behind the scenes footage popped up..it was such a surprise!
I haven't caught up the the ipod thing yet, well, because you know it's that money thing..but the enhanced cds are great, cheap, and a lot of fun..thanks!
itunes, amazon, napster, and any other online music store just plain suck
i refuse to EVER buy an album where im just downloading files (except for ONCE where i bought trans siberian orchestras nightcastle from amazon...but the main reasons were that the CD version was only 8 bucks, and the online version was on sale for 4, plus it came with a bonus song, and you got to download it a day early...)
to me, music must always be bought on something physical...
with a CD, i can then have complete freedom over what i want to do with those songs...if i want to make an uncompressed back up for my car i can, or rip it to my computer as an mp3 (at the quality that i want) i can...then i can take those mp3s i just made and transfer them to an mp3 player, or my phone, or whatever
and if anything ever were to happen to those files, i know that i will always have that physical copy
the enhancements are just a bonus
but i do hate it when they release special itunes bonus tracks...if anyone should get the bonus tracks it should be the people buying the actual CD (and are spending a bit more money on it)
but the best thing ever when buying a new album, is holding the booklet in your hands while you are listening to it for the first time...
reading the lyrics as you listen along...and the oh so wonderful smell of the ink they use for the booklet...a new CD basically satisfies all your senses (cept taste...and i would hope people arent licking the CD cases lol)
iTunes I certainly find more convenient and more sensible, seeing as how record stores charge more and itunes replaces your music collection via ipod should your pc crash, BUT...If it's a cd I Love, I must have the physical copy. And enhanced discs are always fun. I just received my Japanese Import of Animal last week, and oh the excitement. ^-^
