Dogfighting is one of the most vicious and cold blooded crimes imaginable. Dogs are forced to fight each other for the sole purpose of gambling and entertainment. Sadly dog fighting occures all over the United States. Dogs are typically kept in cruel conditions and are forced to fight even after they’ve suffered serious injuries such as broken bones, deep gashes, punctured lungs, and pierced eyes. Often animals die in these barbaric contests. The Humane Society of the United States is the only national organization with a team dedicated to combating this inexcusable crime, and their animal fighting experts partner with law enforcement to rescue dogs from fighting and help prosecute their abusers.
